Lone Cypress was founded by native Floridian, Ben Pauley, whose passion for building began long before construction became his career. Growing up in St. Lucie County, he developed an early hands-on mindset & attitude fostered by his father who was a beloved constructor, & fabricator. From a young age, he was taught, believed & knew that if he could imagine something, he could build it.

Ben also went on to serve & protect his community and state for more than 15 years as a wildland firefighter, where discipline, resilience, and problem-solving became second nature. Learning the importance of communication, honesty and integrity as a 1st responder, he applies these principles and values into his work today.

What began as side handyman work while serving as a firefighter grew into home renovations and investment projects. Over time, this passion evolved into a full-time career. Today, his work ranges from full-home reconfigurations to high-end builds and large-scale additions. Known for his hands-on approach and attention to detail, he remains closely involved in every project, from early planning through final completion, ensuring that each home reflects both function and beauty.

Clients value his transparency, problem-solving mindset, and calm, steady leadership throughout the building/remodeling process. His goal is simple: to create spaces that are not only visually elevated but built to last and designed around the way families truly live.

When he’s not on-site, he enjoys all things outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his wife and their two sons.
